Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jerrold Grimes (ranked 5491 p4p, 0 weight class) and Evarist Mhanna (ranked 4672 p4p, 0 weight class). Evarist Mhanna will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Summer Carpenter and Damien Edna.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Grimes has Mhanna up against the cage in a clinch.
Mhanna is trying to force a seperation but Grimes has the dominant position.
Grimes keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Mhanna's efforts to push away.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Grimes.
Mhanna has had enough of the clinch but Grimes keeps him there for the moment.
Grimes has Mhanna pressed against the cage, preventing Mhanna from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
A frustrated look appears on Mhanna's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Mhanna wants to break free but Grimes has control.
Grimes prevents Mhanna from breaking the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Grimes gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Grimes lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Mhanna is looking to stand up but Grimes isn't so interested in that idea.
Grimes will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Mhanna swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Grimes counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Mhanna wants to break free but Grimes has control.
Mhanna throws a head punch that misses.
Mhanna wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Mhanna is trying to break the clinch but Grimes is controlling him.
A frustrated look appears on Mhanna's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Grimes is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Grimes pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
A head kick by Mhanna misses

and Grimes counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Mhanna tries to kick Grimes off in order to stand up. Grimes Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Grimes has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Mhanna tries to buck Grimes off but Grimes is having none of it.

Grimes is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Mhanna is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Mhanna tries to improve position but can't.
Grimes working the head with strikes.
Mhanna takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Grimes really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Grimes is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Mhanna has escaped the position, nice work there.

Grimes tries for a kimura but Mhanna is defending well.
Mhanna is looking for a sweep.
Mhanna taking punishment in the form of punches.

Grimes has hold of Mhanna's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Mhanna tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Grimes cranks the arm and Mhanna screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Mhanna, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
