Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rodney Alcala!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Muhammad Jabbar!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Franklyn Lucas and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alcala throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Alcala misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Jabbar counters with a low kick, right behind Alcala 's knee.
Jabbar tries to score with a low kick but Alcala moves his leg out of the way.
Jabbar walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Jabbar looks to land a left hand but Alcala moved out of range nicely.
Alcala checks a leg kick.
Alcala avoids a kick to the body.
Jabbar moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Alcala connects with a body shot that sends Jabbar's belly button to the back.
Alcala swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Jabbar throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Alcala counters with a left to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Jabbar. Alcala does a little dance to reset his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jabbar misses with a low kick.
Jabbar throws a predictable looking body shot
enabling Alcala to counter with a crisp jab.
Alcala throws a head kick that misses
and Jabbar counters with a nice leg kick.
Jabbar avoids the head kick by Alcala.
Alcala rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jabbar moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Jabbar is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Alcala has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Zero Tolerance in the buildup to the fight.
Jabbar scores with a one two! Alcala had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
An inside leg kick lands from Jabbar.
Alcala moves out of range of the strikes.
Jabbar throws out a leg kick but Alcala moves out of range and Jabbar only half commits.
Jabbar throws a leg kick but Alcala moved away.
Alcala lands with a slapping head kick.

Alcala tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Jabbar was well out of range. Poor timing from Alcala.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Alcala blocks a leg kick.
Alcala lands with a nice body punch.
Jabbar has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Alcala really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Alcala scores with a decent looking hook.
Alcala moves out of range of the strikes.
Jabbar sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Alcala lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.


Jabbar is rocked!
Alcala ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Jabbar's jaw. Jabbar's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Alcala does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Rodney Alcala!
