Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Danny Wyadd! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kebab Nurminen! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Roosa Järviläinen and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nurminen shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Wyadd is trying to defend but Nurminen finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Wyadd manages to escape and get back to his feet! Wyadd moves away from the strike by Nurminen. Nurminen tries to keep at a distance but Wyadd has taken the fight into the clinch. Wyadd slows down the pace here.

Nurminen lands a body punch. With the fighters up against the cage, Wyadd throws an elbow but misses. Wyadd lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Nurminen regains full guard. Nicely done. Nurminen controls Wyadd momentarily but Wyadd frees himself. Wyadd is looking to stand up but Nurminen won't let him.

But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Wyadd, into his guard.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Nurminen working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. Wyadd lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Wyadd wants to stand but Nurminen is controlling his posture from full guard. Wyadd drops back looking for a leg! Nurminen is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Nurminen manages to kick Wyadd off! Wyadd jumps back into Nurminen's guard. Nurminen pulls Wyadd in to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wyadd connects with a couple of short punches. Nurminen looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Wyadd trying to stand up but can't free himself from Nurminen's guard. Wyadd stands and steps away. Nurminen gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Nurminen dips to his left and cracks Wyadd with an uppercut! Wyadd swings away with a leg kick that misses. As Wyadd backs off Nurminen throws a huge counter combo but Wyadd manages to avoid it all. Nurminen tries to clinch but Wyadd is having none of it. Nurminen throws a series of punches but Wyadd avoids them all with ease. Nurminen waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Wyadd. Wyadd moves out of range of the strikes. Wyadd just misses with a punch to the body.
Wyadd lands a lovely overhand right. This has been an exciting period of action! Wyadd fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Nurminen manages to avoid it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wyadd tests Nurminen's chin there with a solid looking shot. Wyadd keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

Wyadd moves into the clinch successfully.
Nurminen turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Nurminen manages to end up in side control. Wyadd taking punishment in the form of punches.
Nurminen is working Wyadd over with some ground and pound from side control. Wyadd takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Wyadd stops Nurminen from passing to mount. Wyadd tries to improve position but can't.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nurminen misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Nurminen lands a nice forearm strike. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Nurminen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wyadd keeps working. Nurminen is putting a hurting on Wyadd here, landing some big shots from side control. Wyadd gets back to half guard. Nurminen working Wyadd over with strikes. Nurminen missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Nurminen throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Wyadd is looking to improve his position.

That was a close round but I would say that Danny Wyadd will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Wyadd pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Nurminen tumbling to the mat - Wyadd dives into Nurminen's guard. Wyadd wants to stand but Nurminen is controlling his posture from full guard. Nurminen is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Wyadd wanted to stand there but Nurminen had control of the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wyadd trying to control the position from guard on top but Nurminen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Wyadd pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Nurminen is keeping the position for now.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Left hook, right uppercut from Wyadd. Nurminen keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A nice side step and Nurminen releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Nurminen tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Wyadd is able to avoid easily. Wyadd with a jab. Wyadd with a poor takedown and Nurminen counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Wyadd takes the fight into the clinch. Wyadd lands with a left to the head. Wyadd is trying to pull guard but Nurminen turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Nurminen has picked Wyadd up - he's going for a ride! Nurminen dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Wyadd is trying to stand back up but Nurminen is controlling him

Wyadd is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Nurminen can do to turn this around? Wyadd wants to stand but Nurminen is controlling the position. Nurminen scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Danny Wyadd overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Nurminen working some strikes from top position. Nurminen loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Wyadd wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Nurminen throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nurminen postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Wyadd is pulling down on Nurminen's head. It's preventing any offense from Nurminen, at least for the moment. Nurminen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wyadd swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Nurminen misses with a wild combination.
Nurminen slips a straight right by Wyadd. Nurminen uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Wyadd. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Nurminen lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Wyadd has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Wyadd and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. It looked like Wyadd was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Nurminen. Wyadd misses with a straight right. Wyadd shoots in looking for a takedown. Nurminen tries to sprawl out of it but Wyadd keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Nurminen manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. A little jabbing left from Nurminen on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Danny Wyadd. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A slow jab from Nurminen misses its intended target. Wyadd lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Nurminen backs up against the cage.

The fight stays on the outside here - Nurminen looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Wyadd is looking for a counter combo. A slow jab from Wyadd misses its intended target. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Nurminen! But no joy. Wyadd tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Nurminen was well out of range. Poor timing from Wyadd. Wyadd lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Nurminen circles away quickly and effectively. Wyadd throws a nice outside leg kick. Wyadd looks for a takedown but Nurminen sprawls well. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nurminen lands with a nice body punch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Danny Wyadd dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Nurminen shoots in and drives through. Wyadd sprawls well. Wyadd tries to close the distance and clinch but Nurminen swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Nurminen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Wyadd as he jumps to the side. Danny Wyadd is winning the standup battle so far. Nurminen walks into a jab. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wyadd jabbing away but nothing is landing. Nurminen tries a quick counter leg kick but Wyadd is wise to it. Nurminen bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Wyadd. Wyadd changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Nurminen looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wyadd wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Nurminen, who protects the arm well. Nurminen manages to work his way to half guard, despite Wyadd's best efforts. Wyadd prevents Nurminen from improving his position. Wyadd has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Nurminen is looking to improve his position but Wyadd isn't that keen on the idea. Wyadd with a couple of short strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nurminen keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wyadd swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Nurminen is now in Wyadd's guard. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Nurminen wants to control from the top but Wyadd keeps moving. Nurminen throws a strike but Wyadd rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Nurminen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Nurminen is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Wyadd trying to control the position from guard on top but Nurminen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wyadd lands a couple of decent looking shots. Nurminen wants to sweep but no luck. Nurminen keeps trying to improve his position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Wyadd trying to control the position from guard on top but Nurminen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kebab Nurminen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Nurminen has his foot on Wyadd's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wyadd works his way back into a safe position though.
And that's the end of the fight! Danny Wyadd showed his dominance in that final round. Well Wyadd has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
