Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mini Mon (ranked 5631 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hakim Rubson (ranked 4733 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Hakim Rubson!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, David Hoff and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rubson moves into the clinch.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Rubson.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Mon.
Mon misses with the head strike.
Rubson goes for a takedown attempt but Mon pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Mon tries to bum rush Rubson with a series of wild strikes but Rubson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Mon swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Rubson works over Mon's head and body with a nice combination.
Rubson moves into range and clinches up with Mon.
Mon fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Rubson lands a good knee to the midsection. Mon won't want to take too many of those.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rubson lands an elbow inside that Mon shrugs off.
Mon misses with a punch on the inside.
Rubson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Rubson clinches up with Mon and pushes him back against the cage.
Mon takes an elbow to the temple.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Mon.
Rubson blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Rubson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Mon throws a nice looking combination but Rubson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Rubson throws a big counter head kick but Mon avoids it with no problem.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Rubson fails with the takedown.
Mon went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Mon throws a lazy right hand but Rubson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
A punch combination from Mon misses.
Mon fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Mon swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Rubson counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Mon looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Mon rushes Rubson with punches - Rubson moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Rubson goes down! Mon follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mini Mon!
