The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smertov throws out a loose jab but Ushakov uses good head movement to avoid it.
Smertov misses with a combination

and Ushakov counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Smertov is trying to control but can't.
Smertov is looking for a sweep. Ushakov is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Ushakov stalling.
Ushakov's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Smertov trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Ushakov manages to pass to mount!
Ushakov takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ushakov is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Smertov is forced to tap! Great finish!
