Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jesse Karhu (ranked 1326 p4p, 161 weight class) and Dale Harengody (ranked 1858 p4p, 205 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice uppercut there from Karhu.
Karhu has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Malmi Aitta in the buildup to the fight.
Karhu's jab looks to have found its range, popping Harengody under the eye.

and Harengody takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Karhu bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Harengody's head backwards.
Karhu keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Harengody sizes up Karhu with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

and Karhu counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

It looks like Jesse Karhu has been cut.
Karhu is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

The crowd cheers as Karhu lands an impressive looking overhand right. Harengody doesn't seem phased though.

Karhu avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Karhu lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Harengody has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Harengody throws a right and a left that Karhu avoids nicely.
It looked like Karhu was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Harengody.
Karhu lands a really nice looking cross but Harengody seems unphased.

Karhu connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Harengody momentarily.

Karhu scores with the left hand. Harengody knows he should have avoided that one.
Harengody throws a left and a right that both miss
and Karhu counters with a huge left! Harengody is in big trouble! He's backing up but Karhu isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Harengody from any more damage. A dominating finish by Karhu!
