PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Tyga Laxx (ranked 5869 p4p, 539 weight class) and Juanito Cortez (ranked 3392 p4p, 411 weight class). Cortez has chosen $$$ as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Tyga Laxx !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Juanito Cortez!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Tiny Johnson and Gwen Towbar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laxx cracks Cortez with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Laxx tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cortez swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Cortez tries a quick counter leg kick but Laxx is wise to it.
Cortez has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Laxx finds it's way round the side to connect with Cortez's head.
Cortez takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Cortez throws a low kick but Laxx moves out of range easily.
Cortez looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Laxx displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Cortez throws out the jab.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Laxx throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Cortez sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Cortez tries to close the distance and clinch but Laxx swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Cortez tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Laxx is able to avoid easily.

It looked like Laxx wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Laxx seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Some bone on bone action there as Laxx checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Cortez fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Laxx has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
The fighters circle momentarily. Cortez darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Laxx takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Laxx cracks Cortez with a left hand that drops him to the canvas, up against the ropes! Can Cortez get back up in time? 3, 4, 5, 6, 7... he's on one knee... 8, 9... he's up! 'Walk towards me' says the referee. Cortez looks steady enough to continue so we're going to continue!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Laxx is pinned up against the ropes taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Cortez shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

That was a close second round but I would say that Tyga Laxx will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Cortez dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Laxx . That did some damage!
Laxx throws out a loose jab but Cortez uses good head movement to avoid it.
Cortez does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Laxx staggers Cortez with a jab and knocks him down with a follow up straight! Cortez looks in trouble, will he beat the count?! The count has reached 5 and he's only back to 1 knee - it's going to be close! 6,7,8 - he's up! No! He's back down again! 9...10 - he's can't beat the count and Laxx is victorious!
