The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ahvenus misses with an uppercut. Johnson saw that one coming.
Johnson misses with the combination.
Ahvenus drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Johnson defends it well.
Ahvenus fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Johnson sprawls well initially but Ahvenus persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Ahvenus slips a nice elbow through Johnson 's hands, connecting with Johnson 's forehead.

Johnson lands a couple of sideways elbows.
Ahvenus is working for a submission of some sort.

Johnson misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Ahvenus has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Ahvenus connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Johnson some visible discomfort.
Johnson throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.

Ahvenus is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Johnson is trying to escape and Ahvenus transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Johnson is forced to tap! Nice work there by Ahvenus! Very nice indeed!
