Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Arnold Rivers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Leam Taylor!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taylor darts in and clinches Rivers up against the cage.
Rivers jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Taylor walks away with a smile on his face. Rivers gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Taylor tries to bum rush Rivers with a series of wild strikes but Rivers uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Rivers shoots in but no luck this time.
Taylor swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
No joy there for Taylor, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Rivers fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Rivers moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromTaylor.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Arnold Rivers. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Taylor misses with a double jab.
Rivers bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Taylor is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rivers in side control, throwing shots but Taylor defends.
Taylor pushes Rivers away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Rivers gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Rivers stands up and we're back to a striking position.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Rivers darts in looking for a takedown but Taylor gets double underhooks and turns Rivers into the cage.
Rivers tries to move into range but Taylor moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Taylor misses with a series of wild punches.
Rivers tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Taylor defends well and Rivers ends up having to push Taylor into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Taylor, as that shot connected.
Taylor lands a right hook to the body.
Taylor works the jab nicely.
Rivers is rocked!
Rivers get stunned by a cross and takes another one on the button. Rivers stumbles backwards and tries to bounce back off the cage but Taylor runs in and jumps on him with a leaping lead hook that puts him out! Wow, that was highlight reel stuff! Awesome finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Leam Taylor!
