Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Douglas Dannis (ranked 5277 p4p, 475 weight class) and Dinislam Gazimagomedov (ranked 6641 p4p, 514 weight class). Dinislam Gazimagomedov has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Douglas Dannis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dinislam Gazimagomedov!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gazimagomedov throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Dannis appears to be looking for a big counter.

Gazimagomedov looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Dannis!
Dannis regains half guard.
Dannis is concentrating on defense, preventing Gazimagomedov from advancing position.
Gazimagomedov working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Dannis's thigh. Dannis counters though and makes it back to full guard.
Gazimagomedov wants to pass the guard but Dannis is keeping the position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Gazimagomedov gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Gazimagomedov decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Dannis is staying active underneath Gazimagomedov, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The fighters are battling for position here. Dannis manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Gazimagomedov slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
We've been hearing good reports from Dannis's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Dannis wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Dannis closes the distance and clinches up with Gazimagomedov, looking for a takedown. Dannis pushes Gazimagomedov against the cage but Gazimagomedov circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Dannis ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Dannis closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Dannis lands in his opponent's guard.
Gazimagomedov wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Dannis manages to pass to side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Dannis has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That was a close round but I would say that Douglas Dannis will probably get the nod.

Dannis wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Dannis closes the distance and clinches.
Dannis dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
Gazimagomedov looking for a takedown.
Gazimagomedov is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Gazimagomedov tries to work over Dannis's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Dannis is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Gazimagomedov can do to turn this around?

Gazimagomedov tries to pull guard but Dannis forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Gazimagomedov postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Dannis is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Gazimagomedov, into his guard.


Gazimagomedov has an active guard here but Dannis has managed to pass into half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Dannis is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Gazimagomedov wants to stand and escape but Dannis is having none of it.
Gazimagomedov has Dannis pulled in close to control his posture.

Dannis is pushing down on Gazimagomedov's leg trying to pass to half guard. Gazimagomedov is fighting to maintain full guard but Dannis has managed to sneak the leg through.

Dannis swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
