The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stenburg rushes Compton and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Compton throws an elbow that misses. Stenburg uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Compton's guard. Nice move by Stenburg!

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Stenburg throws a right hand that Compton ducks under and follows up with a left that Compton also avoids with ease.
Hale Stenburg seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stenburg fails to land with a series of punches.
Compton is looking for a counter combo.
Stenburg throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
It looked like Compton was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Stenburg moves into the clinch.
Compton tries a knee to the head but Stenburg blocks it.
Compton prevents Stenburg from breaking the clinch.
Stenburg blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Compton pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Stenburg changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Compton tries to avoid it but Stenburg manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Compton to the ground. Compton escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Stenburg blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Compton misses with a punch to the body.
Compton is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Stenburg's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Stenburg goes for a takedown in the clinch but Compton prevents it.

Compton is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Stenburg is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Stenburg has escaped and now he's on top!

Compton has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Stenburg is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Hale Stenburg showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Stenburg tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Compton swivels and escapes.
Compton seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Stenburg connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Compton! He's out on his feet! Stenburg rushes in and drops Compton with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
