Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Valeriy Karpin (ranked 5841 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Slaughter (ranked 3585 p4p, 0 weight class). Slaughter has chosen Bring your Daughter to the Slaughter - Iron Maiden as his entrance music. Valeriy Karpin has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Valeriy Karpin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, Max Slaughter!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Nard Betker and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karpin throws a nice looking combination but Slaughter bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Max Slaughter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Karpin throws a right and a left that both miss.

Slaughter throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Karpin tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Slaughter is in Karpin's guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Slaughter takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Karpin is looking to improve his position but Slaughter isn't that keen on the idea.

Let's hope that Slaughter has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Slaughter closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Karpin's guard.

We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Slaughter.

Karpin wants to control but Slaughter postures up.
Karpin seems a little lost for a moment, as Slaughter dominates the positioning.

Karpin tries to improve position but can't.
Karpin is trying to control Slaughter's posture but Slaughter avoids it.
Slaughter works to advance to full mount. Karpin defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Max Slaughter is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Karpin really wants to buck Slaughter off and get back to his feet.
