Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Ham (ranked 4573 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oscar Del Meyers (ranked 24333 p4p, 0 weight class). Oscar Del Meyers will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jack Ham!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Oscar Del Meyers!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Jonathan Paton and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ham shoots in and bounces Del Meyers off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Del Meyers looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Ham slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Del Meyers trying to keep a closed guard but Ham is proving a slippery customer.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ham looking to pass the guard.
Ham lands a couple of digs.
Ham content to stall in guard here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ham stops Del Meyers from standing up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Ham gets a double leg takedown into Del Meyers's guard.
Ham knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Del Meyers on the ground.
Ham wants to pass the guard but Del Meyers is keeping the position.
Ham with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Ham is stalling in the full guard.

Ham drops back looking for a leg! Del Meyers is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Del Meyers manages to kick Ham off! Ham jumps back into Del Meyers's guard.
Ham stays in close to Del Meyers's body and controls the position.

Del Meyers keeping full guard, as Ham tries to pass.
Ham working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Del Meyers's head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ham cracks Del Meyers with a solid left hand.
Ham controls from within his opponent's guard.
Ham's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Del Meyers looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Del Meyers can't keep his opponent in guard - Ham advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Ham looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Del Meyers with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Ham dominated that round.
That's time! Ham's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Del Meyers gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Ham showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Del Meyers has momentary wrist control but Ham slips an elbow through the middle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ham engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Del Meyers is breathing heavily.

Ham seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Del Meyers for as long as he can get away with.
Ham postures up and lands a big shot to Del Meyers's brow.
Ham controls from within his opponent's guard.
Ham is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Del Meyers can do to turn this around?

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Del Meyers is looking to clinch but Ham is avoiding it.

Ham gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Ham escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Del Meyers gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Ham to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Ham slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Ham is in close to Del Meyers's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Ham pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Del Meyers is keeping the position for now.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Ham lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Ham is stalling in the full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Ham steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Del Meyers.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Ham throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Del Meyers was covering up waiting for the punch and Ham finishes the takedown easily into guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Ham dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Ham scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Ham drops an elbow to the side of Del Meyers's head.
Ham not doing much here.
Ham lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ham content to control rather than advance.

Del Meyers takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Ham continues to stall.

Ham is trying to work for a kimura but Del Meyers is defending well.
Ham wants to pass to mount but Del Meyers is defending the position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Ham passes to full mount!
Ham lands a couple of good shots and Del Meyers has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Ham really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Del Meyers.
Del Meyers trying to control but not successfully.
Ham trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Del Meyers doesn't escape.
Jack Ham overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Ham scores with strikes from the back.
Ham throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Del Meyers!
Del Meyers felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Ham keeps control of the position easily here as Del Meyers tries to buck him off.
Ham scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Del Meyers is looking for a way out.


Del Meyers is rocked!
Ham is scoring with a succession of shots from the back. Del Meyers is covering up - he's had enough and the ref steps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:47 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jack Ham!
