Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bernhard Riemann! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Don Marshall! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Jorge Garcia and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marshall jabs Riemann right on the nose. Riemann blinks but takes it well. Marshall throws a shot to the body.
Marshall's jab looks to have found its range, popping Riemann under the eye. Riemann walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Riemann shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Marshall unleashes a big counter combination but Riemann bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Riemann shoots in looking for a takedown but Marshall manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Riemann's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Marshall lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Marshall stalks Riemann and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Riemann's face. Riemann staggers backwards, shaken. Marshall cracks a nice hook into Riemann's ribs. This has been an exciting period of action! A jab from Riemann misses. Riemann shoots in looking for a takedown. Marshall tries to sprawl out of it but Riemann keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Marshall manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bernhard Riemann. That's going to take a lot out of him. Marshall lands a really nice looking cross but Riemann seems unphased.
Marshall jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Marshall takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Riemann closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Riemann is rocked! Marshall keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Oh Riemann is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Marshall lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Marshall is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Riemann had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Marshall pounces like a tiger and cracks Riemann with a vicious hook! Riemann is down but not out! Marshall follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Don Marshall!
