Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cole Alishin (ranked 4325 p4p, 0 weight class) and Benji Verggan (ranked 6245 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Cole Alishin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Benji Verggan! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Valeri Chadov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Verggan fails with the takedown. Alishin really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Alishin gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Verggan counters with a crisp one two that drops Alishin! Verggan thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Alishin to his feet! Alishin is in big trouble! Alishin scores with the left hand. Verggan knows he should have avoided that one.
It looks like Benji Verggan has been cut. Verggan pushes Alishin up against the cage in a clinch. Alishin tries to work over Verggan's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Verggan gets control of Alishin's arms and successfully pulls guard. Verggan will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Verggan is looking for a triangle but Alishin pushes his legs off easily.
Alishin has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Verggan wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Alishin trying to control the position from guard on top but Verggan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alishin has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Verggan is proving hard to escape from. Verggan looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Verggan wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Alishin will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Alishin trying to control but Verggan is working from the bottom. Verggan has a closed guard, preventing Alishin from standing up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Verggan has control of Alishin's left arm, preventing Alishin from doing any damage. Alishin has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Verggan is proving hard to escape from. Verggan is trying to control the position but Alishin postures up. Verggan has his foot on Alishin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Alishin works his way back into a safe position though. Verggan looking for a sweep. Not yet Verggan, not yet. Alishin looking to pass the guard. Alishin engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alishin decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Verggan, up you get! Verggan clinches up against the cage. Verggan breaks from the clinch.
A slapping body kick lands there for Alishin. Alishin misses with a head kick.
Verggan with the counter takedown but Alishin avoids it easily. Alishin misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Verggan shoots in for a double leg but Alishin sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Verggan wants to clinch up but Alishin keeps it at a distance. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Verggan. Cole Alishin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Benji Verggan. Alishin slaps away a takedown attempt from Verggan, before circling back to the center of the mat. Alishin quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect. Verggan shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Alishin pinned against the cage. Alishin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Alishin scores with a hook to the body. Verggan takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Verggan has managed to clinch.
Verggan using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Alishin has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Alishin wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Verggan has him pressed against the cage. A frustrated look appears on Alishin's face as he tries to break the clinch. Verggan lands a nice uppercut.
It looks like Cole Alishin has been cut. Verggan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Verggan misses with a takedown attempt - Alishin sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Alishin swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Verggan tries to clinch up but Alishin circles away and keeps his distance. As Verggan looks to move away, Alishin throws a big counter combo but Verggan just gets out of the way. Verggan misses with a jab, cross combination.
That's one minute gone in the round. No luck for Verggan with that takedown attempt. Alishin throws a sloppy head kick and Verggan moves out of range easily. Verggan takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Alishin pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Verggan lands a big head kick that sends Alishin tumbling to the mat! Verggan takes a step backwards and waves Alishin back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Alishin is rocked! No luck with that takedown attempt from Verggan. Oh Alishin is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Cole Alishin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Benji Verggan. Alishin throws a nice outside leg kick. Alishin seems to have got his legs back now. Alishin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Verggan ducks right into an uppercut from Alishin. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Alishin feints a jab promting Verggan to slip. Alishin then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Verggan slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Cole Alishin is winning the standup battle so far. Alishin scores with a one two! Verggan had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Alishin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Verggan has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Alishin off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Benji Verggan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Alishin throws a nice inside leg kick. Alishin lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Verggan fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Alishin quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alishin shoots for a takedown but Verggan saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Verggan is looking for the big counter here. Verggan fails with an attempt to clinch.
Alishin misses with a series of wild punches.
Verggan checks a leg kick. Verggan has his takedown stuffed and Alishin counters with an inside leg kick. Alishin looks to land a body kick but Verggan moved away. Verggan dives in for a single leg takedown but Alishin sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Alishin throws a body shot but no joy. Alishin misses with a series of wild punches.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Verggan shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Alishin defends it nicely. Verggan tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Alishin swivels and escapes. Verggan has a takedown stuffed. Alishin wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. A combination from Alishin does no damage. Cole Alishin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Verggan dodges the punch combination from Alishin.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Cole Alishin dominated that second round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. That's time! Alishin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!
Verggan has his takedown stuffed and Alishin counters with a shoot takedown. Verggan fights it but they end up in guard. Alishin preventing the sweep. Alishin has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Verggan is proving hard to escape from. Alishin showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Alishin wants to stand but Verggan has a closed guard, so he can't escape. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Alishin loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Verggan looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Alishin is defending well. Verggan quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Alishin has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Verggan celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
