The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Marx counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Gracie's guard now.

Marx trying to control the position from guard on top but Gracie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Marx lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Gracie avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Marx thows a big elbow that misses.
Gracie striking off his back but it's not causing Marx any problems.
Gracie had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Marx is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Gracie Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Marx's back instead.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Marx rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Gracie throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

so Marx counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Marx gets to his feet - Gracie follows without any prompting.

A head kick from Gracie lands but Marx takes it in his stride.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Marx counters with a series of strikes. Gracie will be more careful next time no doubt.

Mauricio Gracie seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.
Marx gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Gracie pushes a forearm under Marx's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Marx is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
