Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Heitor Machado (ranked 562 p4p, 30 weight class) and Newbie Guide (ranked 506 p4p, 23 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Heitor Machado has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Heitor Machado seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Heitor Machado! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Newbie Guide! The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Machado keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Guide. Machado tries to counter with a takedown but Guide is quick to defend against it. Guide tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Machado was well out of range. Poor timing from Guide. Machado slips a jab from Guide. Guide takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Guide defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Machado. Machado lands a slapping body shot.
Machado has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Soul Supremacy Rio in the buildup to the fight. Machado shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Guide but Guide pushes him off and we're back to square one. Guide leaves Machado with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Heitor Machado. That's going to take a lot out of him. Machado shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Machado showed some decent athleticism there. Guide is staying active underneath Machado, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Guide is trying to maintain the position but Machado is very close to passing his half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Machado looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Machado controlling the action here. Machado wants to lay and pray for a moment but Guide keeps working. Machado is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Machado is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Guide is defending against the submission attempts here by Machado.
Machado seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Machado wants to take a breather but Guide is having none of it.

Machado is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Guide defends it well. Machado is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Guide sees it coming and defends easily. Guide is trying to stand back up but Machado is controlling him

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Guide really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Machado. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Machado is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Guide is looking to control Machado's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Guide avoid being mounted? Machado is working for a kimura but Guide is defending it quite comfortably.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Machado is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Heitor Machado dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
A looping hook to the body misses from Guide. Machado does a little dance to reset his feet. Machado feinted with a counter takedown. Machado slips under a jab. Machado shoots in for a takedown but Guide shows good takedown defense. Guide connects with a body shot that sends Machado's belly button to the back. No luck for Machado with that takedown attempt. Guide throws out a counter right but Machado avoids it with no problem. Machado takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
It looks like Heitor Machado has been cut. Guide throws a body punch but Machado moves out of range. Guide throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Machado tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Guide defends well and Machado ends up having to push Guide into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Heitor Machado. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Machado throws a sloppy head kick and Guide moves out of range easily. Machado uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Guide.

Guide throws an overhand right that lands on Machado's shoulder, as Machado tries to avoid the shot. Guide throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Machado.
That's one minute gone in the round. Machado dives in for a single leg takedown but Guide sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Machado misses with a takedown attempt and Guide counters with a nice body shot. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Guide loads up on a big right hand but Machado slips the punch. Guide drops Machado with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Machado looks back up at him and smiles so Guide waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Machado is rocked! Guide misses with an uppercut. Oh Machado is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Guide throws a lazy right hand but Machado sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Machado seems to have got his legs back now. Machado steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Guide. Guide has been the more effective fighter overall so far. The fighters circling - Guide throws out the jab but it was never going to land. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Guide fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Machado manages to avoid it. Some wild striking there from Guide.

Machado drops down looking for a counter takedown but Guide sprawls and moves away. Newbie Guide seems to be getting the better of the standup. Machado uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Guide. Machado slips a jab from Guide. Guide lands a jab to Machado's midsection.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Machado gets a takedown into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Guide has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Machado is working away from the top position though. Machado is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Newbie Guide showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Heitor Machado's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Guide rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Machado moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Machado shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Guide pinned against the cage. Guide gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Guide misses with a body shot.

Machado misses the shot to the body. Guide feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Machado sprawling to the canvas! Machado rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Guide finish him?!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Machado keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Guide ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Machado moves away. Guide misses with a body shot.

That's one minute gone in the round. Guide cracks Machado on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Machado falls backwards against the cage. Guide follows up with more strikes that drop Machado to his knees. Guide keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Machado! This one is all over!
