Coming up we have a heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Torkel Bystrom (ranked 3751 p4p, 337 weight class) and Harry Hirsch (ranked 2434 p4p, 249 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of St Petersburg, with a TWGC record of 3 wins and 3 losses; Torkel Bystrom! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 4 wins and 1 losses; Harry Hirsch! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hirsch. Hirsch shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bystrom pinned against the ropes. Bystrom gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. A momentary lapse in concentration from Hirsch enables Bystrom to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Hirsch manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Bystrom (2) vs (0) Hirsch Bystrom tries to free his leg and advance position but Hirsch is retaining full guard. Hirsch has his foot on Bystrom's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bystrom works his way back into a safe position though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bystrom is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Bystrom drops back looking for a leg! Hirsch is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hirsch manages to kick Bystrom off! Bystrom jumps back into Hirsch's guard. Bystrom trying to control but Hirsch is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hirsch is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Hirsch has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Bystrom doesn't defend quickly enough and Hirsch has managed to lock this one up! Can Bystrom escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Hirsch on a fantastic submission victory.
