Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

23 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Outlaw Hardy!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Taro Takaoka and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barnkvist lands a nice shot to the body.
Barnkvist moves out of range of the body kick from Hardy.
Hardy throws a leg kick that is checked
and Barnkvist counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hardy won't be happy with that.
Barnkvist throws a strike aimed at the side of Hardy's head but Hardy avoids it well.
Barnkvist misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Barnkvist throws an elbow but Hardy slips to the side and avoids it well.
Hardy parries the strikes from Barnkvist easily there. Barnkvist is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Hardy to escape.

Barnkvist in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Barnkvist creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
You can see the frustration on Hardy's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Hardy gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Hardy manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Barnkvist keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Barnkvist has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Hardy is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Barnkvist has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Hardy avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Barnkvist goes for a takedown attempt but Hardy pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Peter Barnkvist. That's going to take a lot out of him.

We've been hearing reports that Barnkvist has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Barnkvist takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
It looks like Peter Barnkvist has been cut.
Hardy stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Barnkvist tries to clinch there but Hardy circles away.
Hardy avoids the body shot from Barnkvist.
Barnkvist tries for a takedown but Hardy sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Hardy swats away the attempt to clinch by Barnkvist.
The fighters circling - Hardy throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Hardy wants to slow Barnkvist down by chopping away at his legs.
Barnkvist tries to counter with a takedown but Hardy is quick to defend against it.

Hardy thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Barnkvist if he has to take too many more of those.

Barnkvist seems to have got his legs back now.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hardy sends Barnkvist crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Hardy is motioning to the referee to let Barnkvist up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Peter Barnkvist's cut is getting worse.
Barnkvist bobbing and weaving nicely... He's ducked under a jab and ducks again but ooooooh! Hardy comes at him with an uppercut from hell! Barnkvist falls to the canvas, unconscious! This one is all over! Oh man, looking at the replay that was right on the button! Barnkvist was out before he hit the floor!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Outlaw Hardy!
Outlaw Hardy bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
