Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Emerson Jorge and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Souza drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
De Souza lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Tavares down.
De Souza decides to stand up, so the ref orders Tavares to his feet.
Tavares definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

It looks like Gabriel De Souza has been cut.
De Souza looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

De Souza is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Tavares doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time De Souza.

Fabinho Tavares seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tavares fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt De Souza.
De Souza rushes Tavares and presses him up against the cage.

De Souza gets control of Tavares's arms and successfully pulls guard. De Souza will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

De Souza closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Tavares's guard.
De Souza stands up from Tavares's guard - De Souza perhaps looking for a knockout.
De Souza throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Tavares was covering up waiting for the punch and De Souza finishes the takedown easily into guard.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
De Souza closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

De Souza cracks Tavares with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Tavares tries to get back to half guard but can't.

De Souza is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Tavares is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Tavares flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. De Souza anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Tavares and secures both hooks! This could be bad! De Souza slips an arm under Tavares chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. De Souza has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. De Souza is squeezing on Tavares like an anaconda would it's prey. Tavares fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Gabriel De Souza!
