The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wallace looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Wallace fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Silva drops down looking for a counter takedown but Wallace sprawls and moves away.
Silva tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Wallace swivels and escapes.
Silva shoots in for a double leg but Wallace sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Silva has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Wallace gets caught napping as Silva dives in and scores a takedown. Wallace manages to retain guard.

Wallace wriggles free and stands up.
Silva throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Wallace's waist but Wallace gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Silva off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kron Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Silva dives in and grabs Wallace's left leg, looking for a takedown. Wallace pushes down on Silva's head and hops out.

Wallace feints and then cracks Silva's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Silva down.
Silva tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Wallace defends well and Silva ends up having to push Wallace into the ropes where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Silva avoids a punch combination nicely.
Kron Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silva is trying hard to land a takedown here. Wallace sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Silva darts in looking for a takedown but Wallace gets double underhooks and turns Silva into the ropes.

Oooooh!!! Wallace has knocked Silva down with a huge combo! Wallace steps away and waves a wobbly Silva back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
