Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Manuel Griffin (ranked 4756 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyson Mike (ranked 24779 p4p, 0 weight class). Tyson Mike has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Manuel Griffin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tyson Mike! The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Griffin shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mike but Mike pushes him off and we're back to square one. Mike throws a big counter head kick but Griffin avoids it with no problem. Griffin lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Horrible takedown attempt by Griffin or perhaps it was just good defense by Mike, which made it look bad. Mike throws a counter combo. Mike fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Griffin, pushing him back against the cage. Mike tightens his grip and picks Griffin up, before dumping him to the ground. Griffin manages to land in guard. Mike must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mike slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Mike trying to stand up but can't free himself from Griffin's guard. Mike is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mike stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Griffin swivels though and keeps the full guard. Griffin pulls Mike in close to prevent any damage. Griffin might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Griffin looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Mike lands a couple of digs. Griffin working a defensive guard here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Griffin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mike is one step ahead there. Mike has gone for a leg lock! Griffin slips out almost immediately though and dives into Mike's guard. Mike is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Mike avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Mike is adopting a defensive guard. Griffin got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mike has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Griffin has managed to get both his arms back between Mike's legs - danger averted.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Griffin trying to stand up but can't free himself from Mike's guard. Mike has his foot on Griffin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Griffin works his way back into a safe position though. Mike throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Griffin cracks Mike with a solid left hand. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mike can do anything to dispel that myth. Griffin lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Griffin working some strikes from top position. Griffin keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Mike's head. Griffin missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Mike bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Griffin's guard. Mike would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Griffin has momentary wrist control but Mike slips an elbow through the middle.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mike landing some decent shots from guard. Mike pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Griffin is keeping the position for now. Mike wanted to stand there but Griffin had control of the position. Griffin looking to control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Griffin looking for a guillotine here but Mike defends easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Tyson Mike will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Griffin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Mike throws a counter combo. Manuel Griffin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Mike closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Mike looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Tyson Mike has got the better of the ground game so far. Griffin is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Mike is tapping! Great win for Griffin!
