2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andres Leon Villalobos! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Anthony Taglia and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Villalobos tries to score a power double leg takedown but Temirov sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Villalobos somewhat. Villalobos circles away from the clinch attempt.
No luck for Villalobos with that takedown attempt. Temirov gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Villalobos to score an easy takedown into full guard. Villalobos is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Villalobos thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Villalobos drops back looking for a leg! Temirov is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Temirov manages to kick Villalobos off! Villalobos jumps back into Temirov's guard. Villalobos is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Temirov is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Temirov has escaped and now he's on top!

Temirov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Villalobos on the ground. Temirov has picked Villalobos up and slammed him! Villalobos can't keep hold of the triangle and Temirov manages to pass to side control! Villalobos sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Villalobos actively working from the bottom here. Villalobos slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Villalobos is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Temirov frees his head nicely. Oh but Villalobos has switched to an armbar! Temirov is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
