Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Aslan Akishev (ranked 2923 p4p, 324 weight class) and Stephen Oyalade (ranked 2318 p4p, 262 weight class). Stephen Oyalade has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Aslan Akishev! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Stephen Oyalade! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Oyalade shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Akishev moves in looking to clinch but Oyalade pushes him off. Oyalade drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Akishev wants to get back to his feet but Oyalade passes into half guard.
Oyalade seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Oyalade throwing shots but Akishev is blocking nicely. Akishev tries to kick Oyalade off but Oyalade keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Akishev pushes Oyalade off but Oyalade dives into side control.
Akishev wants to get back to his feet. Oyalade tries to advance to mount but can't. Akishev is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Oyalade is controlling him well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Oyalade remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Akishev wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
That's one minute gone in the round. Oyalade scores with punches from side control. Oyalade controlling the position from side mount. Oyalade wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Akishev, who protects the arm well. Akishev wants to get back to his feet but Oyalade drags him back down. Oyalade happy to just control the position for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Akishev wants to get back to his feet. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Oyalade wants to stand but Akishev is controlling his arm. Oyalade prevents Akishev from escaping the position. Akishev is trying to escape the position but Oyalade is controlling the position. Akishev is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Aslan Akishev is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Oyalade shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Akishev tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Oyalade manages to move to mount!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Oyalade sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Akishev squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Akishev defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Oyalade. Oyalade is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Akishev has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Oyalade tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Oyalade looking to ground and pound but Akishev is blocking nicely. Akishev blocking the ground and pound. Oyalade with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Oyalade throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Oyalade won't let Akishev get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Oyalade controlling the pace for now. Oyalade looking to finish with strikes here!
Akishev tries to buck Oyalade off but Oyalade takes his back! Oyalade has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. I would not like to be Akishev right now.
Akishev is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Akishev is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Oyalade gets his way!

Stephen Oyalade dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Oyalade jabs at Akishev's body. Oyalade changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Akishev tries to avoid it but Oyalade manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Akishev to the ground. Akishev escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Akishev throws a head kick that misses and Oyalade counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Oyalade. Oyalade manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Stephen Oyalade has got the better of the ground game so far. Oyalade is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Akishev gets to his feet. Oyalade looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Akishev fails with an attempt to clinch.
Oyalade drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Akishev defends it well. Nice body kick there by Akishev. Aslan Akishev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Akishev goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
It looks like Stephen Oyalade has been cut. Oyalade shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Akishev as he avoids it easily. Akishev keeps Oyalade at a distance using the push kick. A kick lands to the mid section there for Akishev. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Akishev lets loose with a powerful body kick. Oyalade will feel that in the morning. Oyalade is breathing heavily. Akishev misses with a double jab.
Akishev lands a big head kick that sends Oyalade to the canvas! Akishev follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
