Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Seymour Hughes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Jay Stanley!
The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Skip Squint and Ron Honeybunn.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stanley fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Stanley looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Hughes throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Stanley stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Hughes clobbers Stanley with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Hughes decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Hughes wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stanley keeps working.

Stanley looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Hughes has picked Stanley up and slammed him! Stanley can't keep hold of the triangle and Hughes manages to pass to side control!

Stanley is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Hughes is staying active.
Stanley pushes Hughes away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Hughes gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Hughes is looking to take a break and control but Stanley is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
A bit of a lull in the action here.

That was a close round but I would say that Seymour Hughes will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Hughes lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Seymour Hughes.

A very excited looking Seymour Hughes rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
