Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dino Carson (ranked 23884 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Allen (ranked 4752 p4p, 491 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dino Carson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Allen!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Robert Twigg and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Allen stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Allen wants it to stay on the feet.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Allen.
Carson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Allen wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Allen controlling from side mount.

Allen decides to stand back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Allen decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Allen stalling.

Allen is working for a submission of some sort.

Carson controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
Carson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Carson is looking to escape.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Allen keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Carson has his takedown stuffed

and Allen counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Carson!

Carson explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

Allen closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Carson quickly recovers to half guard.
Allen is looking to stall here but Carson recovers full guard.

Carson is trying to keep Allen in close.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Allen keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Carson's head.
Carson keeping moving, preventing Allen from controlling successfully.

Carson has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Allen is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Allen breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Carson.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dino Carson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Allen closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Carson tries to kick Allen off but Allen keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but James Allen will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Carson gets caught flat footed, as Allen shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Carson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Allen is one step ahead there.
Allen controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Allen looking to sit in guard and control but Carson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Allen is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Carson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Carson postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Carson throws a strike but Allen rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Allen throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
James Allen has got the better of the ground game so far.
Carson is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Allen with a nice head shot there.

Allen stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Allen fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Carson sprawls well initially but Allen persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Allen is looking for a kimura here.
Allen prevents Carson from improving his position.

Allen working over Carson with some ground and pound. Carson looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Allen is trying to control. Carson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Allen must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Allen tries to free his leg and advance position but Carson is retaining full guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Allen prevents Carson from getting back to his feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Carson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Allen trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Allen looking to sit in guard and control but Carson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Allen preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Allen has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Carson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Allen is breathing heavily.
Allen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Allen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Allen dives in and scores a takedown into Carson's guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Carson looks for a takedown but Allen sprawls well.

Allen manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Carson on his heels. He'll look to pass Carson's guard now, I'm sure.

Carson wriggles free and stands up.

so Allen counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Carson scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Carson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Allen to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Carson is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Allen presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Allen drags the fight down to the ground.

Carson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Carson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Allen wants to stand and escape but Carson is having none of it.
Carson postures up.

Carson throws a big elbow that misses.
Allen is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Allen wants to sweep here but Carson controlling him for the moment.
Allen has momentary wrist control but Carson slips an elbow through the middle.

Allen is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Carson defends well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Carson lands a couple of elbows.
Carson throwing strikes but missing.
Carson working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Carson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Allen throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Carson wants to control from the top but Allen keeps moving.
Allen controls Carson momentarily but Carson frees himself.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Carson postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Carson landing some decent shots from guard.
Carson throws a big elbow that misses.

Allen escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Carson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Allen is trying to keep Carson in close.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Dino Carson showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Allen has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
