PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nick Tropper (ranked 2932 p4p, 334 weight class) and Ned Kelly (ranked 4003 p4p, 413 weight class). Kelly has chosen Vigilante as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nick Tropper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ned Kelly!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Dean Styles and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slow jab from Kelly misses its intended target.
Tropper feinted with a counter takedown.
Tropper looks to land a right hand but Kelly moved out of range.
A cross from Tropper lands.
Tropper tries to bum rush Kelly with a series of wild strikes but Kelly uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Kelly connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
We've been informed that Kelly has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Kelly has managed to clinch.
Tropper lands a nice uppercut.
Kelly lands a hook that snaps the head of Tropper backwards.
Tropper has had enough of the clinch but Kelly keeps him there for the moment.

Tropper has hold of one of Kelly's legs. Kelly is fighting the takedown attempt but Tropper gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Kelly fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Tropper looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Kelly is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Tropper had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Kelly lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Well Kelly has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
