Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Liam McKnight (ranked 2928 p4p, 337 weight class) and Benny Woody (ranked 6464 p4p, 513 weight class). Benny Woody has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Liam McKnight! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Benny Woody! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Woody throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
McKnight uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Woody. A head kick misses from McKnight. Woody fakes high and swings low for a body shot but McKnight manages to avoid it. McKnight lands a jab to the nose. Woody misses the shot to the body. Woody walks forward, straight into a front kick from McKnight. Woody avoids the head kick by McKnight.
Woody fails to land with a series of punches.
McKnight connects with a high kick. McKnight scores with a leg kick.
McKnight tries a head kick but it misses.
Woody throws out a counter right but McKnight avoids it with no problem. Woody thuds a left hand into McKnight's body. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! McKnight misses with a head kick.
It seemed like Woody was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Woody scores with a nice right hand.
McKnight closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - McKnight lands in his opponent's guard. Woody is wriggling around but McKnight manages to pass to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Woody gets full guard. Woody wants to stand and escape but McKnight is having none of it. Woody is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Woody wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and McKnight manages to pass to side control. McKnight knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Woody on the ground. Woody is trying to stand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McKnight trying to control from half guard but Woody is working away. McKnight stalling away here and it's allowed Woody to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. McKnight trying to control the position from guard on top but Woody is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Woody is wriggling around but McKnight manages to pass to half guard.
Woody throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Woody is trying to stand up here but McKnight is controlling him well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McKnight is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Woody doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time McKnight. Woody looks like he's trying to stand up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McKnight prevents Woody from improving his position. McKnight decides to stand up. Woody defends well against a solid takedown attempt from McKnight.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. McKnight ducks under a wild hook from Woody. McKnight tried to counter with a leg kick but Woody avoided it. Woody misses with a straight left. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Woody shoots in for a takedown and gets it. McKnight scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Woody manages to mount him!
Woody unloading with bombs! Woody wants to control the pace but McKnight is squirming around nicely. Woody scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Woody with good strikes from the mount here! McKnight is desperately trying to improve his position but Woody has a good base and remains in mount. Woody with the ground and pound from mount.
McKnight is rocked! Woody lands a big elbow - McKnight is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and McKnight is forced to tap out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Benny Woody!
