Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Andre Mahesa (ranked 5002 p4p, 385 weight class) and Micky Harper (ranked 25099 p4p, 482 weight class). Mahesa comes into the arena with You're Going Down blaring out of the sound system. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Andre Mahesa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Micky Harper! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Alec Ball and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Harper fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Harper has a takedown stuffed. Harper closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Harper lands in his opponent's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Harper avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Harper looking to sit in guard and control but Mahesa gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mahesa scoring with some ground and pound. Mahesa content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Mahesa throws a big right hand that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mahesa passes into half guard. Harper has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mahesa is working away from the top position though. Mahesa is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Harper sees it coming and defends easily. Mahesa is thwarting Harper's attempts to control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Harper might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Mahesa haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Mahesa will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Mahesa missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Mahesa is looking for a kimura but Harper is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Mahesa to get the leverage. Harper trying to control here.

If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Mahesa is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Harper is trying to get back to full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Harper shoots in for a double leg but Mahesa sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Nice takedown defense from Harper. No joy for Mahesa on that attempt. Mahesa goes for a double leg but Harper avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Harper continues to drive forward. Horrible takedown attempt by Harper or perhaps it was just good defense by Mahesa, which made it look bad. Mahesa closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Harper's guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mahesa thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Mahesa throws a big elbow that misses. Mahesa is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Mahesa drops back looking for a leg! Harper is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Harper manages to kick Mahesa off! Mahesa jumps back into Harper's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mahesa drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mahesa jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Harper had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Mahesa defends it easily. Harper throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Mahesa really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Harper is looking for a triangle but Mahesa pushes his legs off easily.

Harper is looking for a triangle but Mahesa pushes his legs off easily.
Mahesa drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Mahesa as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Harper screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Mahesa! Nice submission victory there!
