Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Kokorin (ranked 7272 p4p, 532 weight class) and Dale Holloway (ranked 4457 p4p, 448 weight class). Dale Holloway has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alexander Kokorin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dale Holloway! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Trevor Gratis and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Holloway gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Kokorin tries to free his leg and advance position but Holloway is retaining full guard. Holloway is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kokorin is aware though and is defending well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Holloway is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Holloway had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kokorin defends it easily. Kokorin tries to free his leg and advance position but Holloway is retaining full guard. Holloway throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Holloway has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kokorin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Kokorin drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kokorin jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kokorin slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Kokorin is trying to get an arm triangle but Holloway is defending well. Kokorin tries for a kimura but Holloway is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Holloway is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Holloway manages to work his way to half guard, despite Kokorin's best efforts. Holloway is looking to control Kokorin's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Holloway avoid being mounted? Kokorin is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Holloway has managed to free his arm - good work.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Holloway looking for submissions off his back. Holloway is trying to maintain the position but Kokorin is very close to passing his half guard. Kokorin is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Holloway is just riding it out for now. Kokorin eventually gives up the hold. Holloway tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Holloway looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Holloway is defending against the submission attempts here by Kokorin.
Holloway is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kokorin's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kokorin's back! Holloway looking for the RNC. Kokorin wants to escape the position.
Kokorin is working hard here to advance position. Kokorin is breathing heavily. Kokorin fending off the submission attempt from Holloway. Holloway patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?
That's three minutes gone in the round. Holloway is hanging on to Kokorin's back as he tries to escape.
Kokorin turns into Holloway and is now in his guard.
Holloway escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kokorin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Kokorin stopping the sweep attempt from Holloway. Holloway looking to control.
Kokorin thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Holloway working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kokorin doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kokorin manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Holloway looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Holloway has his foot on Kokorin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kokorin works his way back into a safe position though. Holloway looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kokorin drops back looking for a leg! Holloway is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Holloway manages to kick Kokorin off! Kokorin jumps back into Holloway's guard. Kokorin pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Holloway is keeping the position for now. Holloway has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kokorin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Holloway controlling Kokorin's posture. Holloway is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Kokorin frees his head nicely. Oh but Holloway has switched to an armbar! Kokorin is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
