Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alan Spence (ranked 3600 p4p, 386 weight class) and Wilton Duque (ranked 3874 p4p, 411 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Alan Spence !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Wilton Duque!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duque tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Spence defends well and Duque ends up having to push Spence into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Duque misses with a takedown attempt - Spence sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Spence looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Duque shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Spence but Spence pushes him off and we're back to square one.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Spence kicks off Duque and gets to his feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Duque moves out of range of the strikes.

That was a close round but I would say that Alan Spence will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Duque manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Spence on his heels. He'll look to pass Spence 's guard now, I'm sure.

Spence leaves Duque with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Duque's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Spence connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Duque scrambles back to his feet.

Spence lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Spence stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Duque is looking to clinch but Spence is avoiding it.
Spence misses with a hook.
Spence throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Spence tries to break free but Duque pushes him back against the cage.

Duque ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Duque no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Spence has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Duque is proving hard to escape from.
Wilton Duque has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Spence wants to stand and escape but instead Duque has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Spence , winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
