Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rafael Souza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Goomba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Souza's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Sandstorm. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Luis Engracia and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goomba wants to clinch.
Souza shoots in for a takedown but Goomba shows good takedown defense.
Goomba throws a head kick that misses.
Goomba moves in looking to clinch but Souza pushes him off.
Goomba doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Souza counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Goomba's guard now.
Souza passes Goomba's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Souza takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Souza in particular looking to stall.

Souza has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Goomba slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Souza shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Goomba's guard.
Souza wants to stand but Goomba has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Goomba tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Souza controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Goomba controls Souza momentarily but Souza frees himself.

Souza trying to control but Goomba is working from the bottom.
Goomba has his foot on Souza's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Souza works his way back into a safe position though.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Goomba fails with the takedown
and Souza counters with a low kick, right behind Goomba 's knee.
Souza rushes Goomba and presses him up against the cage.
Goomba gets underhooks to prevent Souza's takedown attempt.
Goomba jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Souza walks away with a smile on his face. Goomba gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Rafael Souza has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jay Goomba.
Souza is looking to clinch but Goomba is avoiding it.
Souza drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Souza stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Souza is looking to slow Goomba down with leg kicks.
Souza tries to land a front kick but Goomba steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Rafael Souza is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Goomba misses with a takedown
and Souza counters with a big head kick but Goomba shrugs it off.
Souza shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Goomba's guard.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Souza throws a body punch but Goomba moves out of range.

and Goomba counters with a single leg into guard. Souza didn't expect that.
Souza seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Goomba wants to control from the top but Souza keeps moving.
Souza looking to hit a scissor sweep but Goomba is one step ahead there.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
