The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cotto tries to close the distance and clinch but Spiteri swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Good leg kick by Spiteri there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Spiteri fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Cotto manages to avoid it.
Cotto was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Cotto takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Cotto walks straight into a perfectly timed right hook, crumpling him to the floor! Cotto is in all kinds of trouble here - can he beat the count? 3,4,5,6,7,8,9....10 - he's out and it's by a long way too - he didn't ever look like beating that count!
