Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rip Snorten (ranked 949 p4p, 140 weight class) and Dean Corll (ranked 1103 p4p, 155 weight class). Snorten comes to the cage accompanied by Sound of Silence. The crowd seem to be enjoying Corll's choice of entrance music: Candyman. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 15 - 0, fighting out of London, Rip Snorten!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 20 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dean Corll!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Corll throws a body punch but Snorten moves out of range.
Snorten misses with a body shot.
Corll tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Snorten is able to avoid easily.
Snorten getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Dean Corll seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Snorten fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
A swing and a miss from Snorten.
Corll takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Corll throws a sloppy head kick and Snorten moves out of range easily.
Snorten throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Snorten feints and then cracks Corll's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Corll down.
Corll throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Snorten sees it coming and avoids it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Snorten keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Snorten moves out of range as Corll strikes.
Snorten fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Corll manages to avoid it.
Corll scores with a kick to the midsection.
Corll throws a body punch but Snorten moves out of range.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Snorten swings widly with a right hand
and Corll counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

That's one minute gone in the round.
An inside leg kick lands from Corll.
Snorten blocks a jab.
Corll jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Snorten is looking to chop away at Corll's legs.

Snorten drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Corll takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Snorten scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Corll to see if he's OK.
Snorten in side control, throwing shots but Corll defends.
Corll is looking for a sweep.
Corll is not content to let Snorten control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Corll sneaks back into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Snorten controlling the pace.

Corll is trying to get back to full guard.
Snorten thows a huge punch but Corll dodges it nicely.
Snorten landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Corll is looking to improve his position.

Corll is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Snorten pulls his head out easily.
Snorten is pressing down on Corll's thigh, looking to free his foot. Corll is holding on for now.
Corll gets full guard.
Snorten advances position into side control!
Snorten cracks Corll with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Corll prevents Snorten from improving position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Snorten working the head with strikes.
Snorten cracks Corll with a big right hand but Corll just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Corll can't do much from the bottom here.
Snorten is staying tight to Corll's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Corll gets back to half guard.
Corll tries to get to full guard but Snorten has control of the leg.
Corll is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Snorten's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Snorten's back!
Corll tries to get the hooks in deep but Snorten pushed the leg off.
Corll controlling well, preventing Snorten from escaping the position.
Snorten is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at London MMA Club, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Snorten trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.

Snorten defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Corll's arms.
You can see the frustration on Snorten's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Corll has got one arm under Snorten's chin. This could be trouble... Snorten trying to control the other hand but Corll gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Snorten has tapped out! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Dean Corll!
In his post fight interview, Dean Corll started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
