PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Art Vandelay (ranked 7393 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miguel Machin (ranked 3608 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Vandelay might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Answering Machine. Machin has chosen Pandora's Music Box as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Art Vandelay has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Art Vandelay seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, Miguel Machin!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Andrew Berry and James Atkins.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vandelay scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Machin fails with a takedown attempt.
Machin gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Vandelay counters with a nice uppercut.
Machin gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Vandelay.
Machin shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Vandelay counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Art Vandelay has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Miguel Machin.
Machin dives in and grabs Vandelay's left leg, looking for a takedown. Vandelay pushes down on Machin's head and hops out.
Machin fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Vandelay avoids it really well and circles away.
Vandelay scores with a body shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vandelay scores with a kick to the midsection.
Machin takes one on the button.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Machin.
Machin looks winded!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Machin shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Machin misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Vandelay lands a leg kick that knocks Machin off balance momentarily.
Vandelay throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Machin takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Machin tries to clinch but Vandelay moves out of range.
Vandelay connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Machin tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Vandelay swivels and escapes.
Vandelay stalks Machin and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Machin's face. Machin staggers backwards, shaken.
Vandelay scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Machin doesn't seem bothered though.
Vandelay lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Machin backs up against the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Machin fails to land the takedown.
Vandelay stuffs the takedown attempt from Machin. Machin gets slowly back to his feet.
Vandelay throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Machin stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Vandelay jabs Machin to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Vandelay stuns Machin with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Vandelay fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Vandelay connects with a solid leg kick.
A left lands for Vandelay.
Vandelay jabs at Machin's body.
Machin closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Vandelay is looking to wear down Machin with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Vandelay throws a nice outside leg kick.
Vandelay cracks Machin with a good jab.
Vandelay moves into range and connects with a jab.
Art Vandelay is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Vandelay thuds a left hand into Machin's body.
Vandelay throws out a powerful jab.

Machin is rocked!
Machin drops his hands momentarily and Vandelay needs no second invitation. He sets himself and throws a perfect high kick, that clips Machin just on the top of the head. Machin drops like a sack of potatoes to the canvas, out cold! Oooooooh yeah! Stick a fork in Machin - he's done!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Art Vandelay!
