Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Geroge Hook (ranked 24857 p4p, 506 weight class) and Park Shin Bum (ranked 23748 p4p, 494 weight class). 8 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Park Shin Bum! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Alexandre Firmino and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shin Bum throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Hook drives through with a takedown into Shin Bum's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Shin Bum pushes Hook off and gets back to his feet.
Hook closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Shin Bum did well to prevent Hook getting side control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hook is controlling the pace.
Shin Bum tries to roll over but Hook keeps him under control. Shin Bum is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hook's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hook's back! Hook looking very determined here, making life difficult for Shin Bum.
Hook manages to reverse the position and now he's in Shin Bum's guard. Nice work there by Hook.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Hook creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Shin Bum is looking to break free of the clinch but Hook has double underhooks. Hook is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Geroge Hook. That's going to take a lot out of him. Shin Bum wants to get back to striking at distance but Hook won't allow it.

Hook keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. That's four minutes gone in the round. Hook is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Shin Bum is defending well. Shin Bum gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Hook.
Hook has Shin Bum pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Shin Bum manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Shin Bum wants to break the clinch but can't.

Hook is looking to control Shin Bum's arms but Shin Bum gets an underhook and turns him. Now Hook has his back to the cage. Shin Bum breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Geroge Hook seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A cross from Shin Bum lands. Nice uppercut lands for Shin Bum. That snapped Hook's head back.
Hook closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Shin Bum is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Hook asserts his dominance and retains side control. Shin Bum tries to buck Hook off but Hook is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Park Shin Bum dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Hook slips under a jab. Shin Bum bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Hook's head backwards. Shin Bum circles away from the clinch attempt.

Hook shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Shin Bum pinned against the cage. Shin Bum gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Shin Bum has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shin Bum connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Park Shin Bum seems to be getting the better of the standup.
That's one minute gone in the round. A looping hook to the body misses from Shin Bum. Hook does a little dance to reset his feet. Hook on the wrong end of a nice hook. Nice takedown defense from Shin Bum. No joy for Hook on that attempt. Hook walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Shin Bum tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hook was well out of range. Poor timing from Shin Bum. Hook gets a double leg takedown into Shin Bum's guard. Shin Bum has control of Hook's left arm, preventing Hook from doing any damage. Shin Bum keeping moving, preventing Hook from controlling successfully. Shin Bum wants to stand but Hook is controlling the position. Hook trying to control the position from guard on top but Shin Bum is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shin Bum tries to land a sweep but no joy. Hook controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Shin Bum keeping moving, preventing Hook from controlling successfully. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Shin Bum working a defensive guard here.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Hook ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Shin Bum scores with a body shot.
Shin Bum lands a jab. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A left and a right from Hook both land. Nice combination. Hook misses with a double jab.
Hook dives in for a single leg takedown but Shin Bum sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Shin Bum swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Geroge Hook. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hook shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Shin Bum counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Shin Bum defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Hook. Good exchange - Shin Bum coming out on top. Shin Bum works over Hook's head and body with a nice combination.
Hook is rocked! Shin Bum drops Hook with a huge uppercut! Hook drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Shin Bum is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Park Shin Bum! Park Shin Bum bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
