Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ricardo Rico (ranked 4825 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darko Mihajlovic (ranked 4392 p4p, 436 weight class). Ricardo Rico has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Lou da Vinci and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rico scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Rico remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Mihajlovic is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Rico tries for a kimura but Mihajlovic is defending well.
Rico is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mihajlovic knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rico shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Mihajlovic manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Rico is taking a breather. Mihajlovic says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rico seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mihajlovic does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Rico manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Mihajlovic on his heels. He'll look to pass Mihajlovic's guard now, I'm sure.
