Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sladen Shockner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Keith Horton!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horton swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Shockner misses with a body kick.
Shockner closes the distance and clinches up with Horton, looking for a takedown. Shockner pushes Horton against the cage but Horton circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Shockner pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Horton has his takedown stuffed
and Shockner counters with a solid body kick.
Shockner thumps Horton with a low kick.
Shockner misses with a head kick.
Shockner tries a head kick but it misses.
Horton misses with a body shot
and Shockner connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Horton looks gassed!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Shockner doesn't manage to clinch there - Horton circles away.
Horton jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Shockner throws a head kick that misses.

Horton shoots in and bounces Shockner off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Horton wants to control from the top but Shockner keeps moving.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Shockner manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Shockner punching from mount but Horton doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Shockner throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Horton is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Horton is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Horton is trying to escape the mount.
Horton holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Shockner tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Horton is squirming around, avoiding Shockner's attempts to control the action.
Horton tries to hold on but Shockner postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shockner wants to control the pace but Horton is squirming around nicely.
Shockner with good strikes from the mount here!
Horton wants to hold on but Shockner pushes him away.
Horton can't escape the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Shockner trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Shockner is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Horton has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Horton!

Horton distracts Shockner with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Horton not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Horton makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Shockner has momentary wrist control but Horton slips an elbow through the middle.
Horton controlling from the top position.
Horton with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Horton's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Horton is working Shockner over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Sladen Shockner will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Horton drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Horton is in close to Shockner's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Shockner looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Horton is pushing down on Shockner's leg trying to pass to half guard. Shockner is fighting to maintain full guard but Horton has managed to sneak the leg through.
Horton has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Horton seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Shockner is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
