Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dave Steele! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, TyLaw Diaz! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Josh West and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diaz shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Steele as he jumps to the side. Steele throws a lazy uppercut
so Diaz counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Diaz would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Diaz wants to stand and escape but instead Steele has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Diaz is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Steele is aware though and is defending well. Steele slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Diaz working a defensive guard here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Steele's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Diaz is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Steele is aware though and is defending well. Steele is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Steele chips away with some ground and pound. Diaz working for a triangle but Steele defends it easily.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Steele controls from within his opponent's guard. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Steele slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Diaz is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
TyLaw Diaz dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Diaz fails with a takedown attempt. Diaz shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Steele as he avoids it easily. Steele throws a big counter combination but Diaz scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Diaz with a poor takedown and Steele counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Dave Steele has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of TyLaw Diaz. Diaz looks for a takedown but Steele sprawls well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Steele changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Diaz looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Diaz tries to bench press Steele off him but Steele keeps the position. Steele controls the position. It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Steele here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man. Diaz is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Steele content to control rather than advance. Diaz has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Steele is working away from the top position though. Diaz has hold of Steele's hands but Steele slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Diaz trying to control from the bottom.

Steele controlling the action here. Steele is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Diaz can do to turn this around? Steele has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Steele prevents Diaz from improving his position. Steele knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Diaz on the ground. Steele is controlling the pace.
Steele seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Diaz for as long as he can get away with.

Diaz is holding on for now. Steele is thwarting Diaz's attempts to control the position. Diaz is looking for a sweep. Steele is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Diaz is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Steele is controlling the pace.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Diaz looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Steele is fending him off so far but Diaz persists. Nope, Steele circles away and we're back to standing. Steele throwing a counter right hand but Diaz manages to avoid it. Diaz doesn't succeed with the takedown and Steele connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dave Steele dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
No luck for Diaz with that takedown attempt. Steele was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Steele throws a series of punches but Diaz moves out of range. Nice takedown defense from Steele. No joy for Diaz on that attempt. Diaz uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Steele.
Diaz fails miserably with a takedown attempt. As Diaz looks to move away, Steele throws a big counter combo but Diaz just gets out of the way. Dave Steele is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Diaz has a takedown stuffed. Diaz takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Diaz looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Steele is fending him off so far but Diaz persists. Nope, Steele circles away and we're back to standing. Diaz on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Steele dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Steele throws a series of punches but Diaz avoids them all with ease.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Diaz changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Steele tries to avoid it but Diaz manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Steele to the ground. Steele escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. A little feinted left hand from Steele on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Diaz with a lazy takedown attempt and Steele counters with a lovely straight right hand! Diaz fails with the takedown and Steele counters with a straight right hand. Steele scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Dave Steele is winning the standup battle so far. Diaz tries for a takedown but Steele circles away easily and Steele counters with a straight right hand. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Steele with a nice cross.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Diaz shoots and misses and Steele counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Diaz fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Steele connects with a crisp jab. Diaz walks into a left hand. Diaz fails with the takedown. Steele swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Steele cracks Diaz with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the ropes. Diaz has his takedown stuffed and Steele counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Steele thuds his right hand into Diaz's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Diaz fails with the takedown and Steele counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. A swing and a miss from Steele.
And that's the end of the fight! Dave Steele showed his dominance in that final round. Well Steele has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Dave Steele! After the fight, Dave Steele was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly. In defeat, TyLaw Diaz stepped up to the mic, saying 'I can't stop getting knocked out but I wanna move up a weight class away from these powerful midgets'.
