PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Emre Can (ranked 2828 p4p, 115 weight class) and Test Four (ranked 3944 p4p, 139 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Test Four was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Emre Can!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Test Four!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Yves DeLean and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Four rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Can moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Can wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Can bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Can tries to close the distance and clinch but Four swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Can tries to clinch but Four is having none of it.
Test Four seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Four circles away from the clinch attempt.
Can is looking to clinch but Four is avoiding it.
A little jabbing left from Four on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Four throws a lazy right hand but Can sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Can tries to clinch but Four is having none of it.
Four sizes up Can with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.


It looks like Emre Can has been cut.
Can slips a jab and a cross from Four.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Four looks to score with a jab to the body but Can is just out of range.
Four circles away from the clinch attempt
and Four connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Four throws a big shot that misses.
As Four tries to get set, Can tries to push him back and clinch up but Four manages to avoid the attempt.
Can tries to clinch up.
Four throws a lazy right hand but Can sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Four misses with a body shot.
A big right from Four misses.
Can avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Can tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Four manages to circle out of the way.
Can uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Four.
Four fails to land with a series of punches.
Can is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Four.
A decent looking cross lands there for Four.
Four waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Can.
Four looks to land a left hand but Can moved out of range nicely.
The fight stays on the outside here - Can looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Four misses with an uppercut. Can saw that one coming.
Can is looking to counter the offense by Four and move into the clinch.
A cross from Four lands.
Four throws a hook but Can blocks it.
As Four tries to get set, Can tries to push him back and clinch up but Four manages to avoid the attempt.
Four circles away from the clinch attempt.
Can could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Can doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Four misses with the combination.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Four paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.


Emre Can's cut is getting worse.
A looping hook to the body misses from Four. Can does a little dance to reset his feet.
Four misses with a straight left.

Four lands a big uppercut and Can crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Can looks OK. Four waves Can back to his feet!


Emre Can's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Four throws a big shot that misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A slow jab from Four misses its intended target.
Four might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Four feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Can sprawling to the canvas! Can rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Four finish him?!


Can is rocked!
Can looks to clinch
and Four counters with a powerful cross that connects right on the chin and the lights go out! A massive one punch knock out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Test Four!
Test Four is the new super heavyweight champion!
