Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Brayden Point (ranked 123 p4p, 18 weight class) and Jason Arlington (ranked 690 p4p, 79 weight class). Point kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Roots Reggae Music. Arlington is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Unchained Melody. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brayden Point! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason Arlington! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Chris Edwards and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Arlington fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Point to the ground. Arlington is now in Point's guard. Arlington trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Point managing to control the position. Point working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Arlington has passed into half guard!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Arlington not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Point looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Arlington throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Arlington thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Point is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Arlington pulls his head out easily. Arlington keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Point says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Arlington wants to free his trapped foot but Point is holding on for dear life with his legs. Arlington wants to control but Point is keeping him busy.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Arlington misses with an uppercut
and Point counters with a stiff right hand.
It looks like Jason Arlington has been cut. Arlington throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Point tries to clinch up. Arlington shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Point is trying to defend but Arlington finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Point keeping hold of Arlington's head, controlling as best he can. Arlington looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Point keeping control of the position. Point is trying to maintain the position but Arlington is very close to passing his half guard.

Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Point has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Arlington is working away from the top position though. Point's corner calls for a 1-2. Point obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Arlington lands a jab to Point's midsection. Point jabbing away but nothing is landing. Arlington darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Arlington clinches with his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A head punch on the inside from Point fails to land. Point blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Point lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Point creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Arlington blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Point scores with a nice hook to the head. Arlington is leaning against Point and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Arlington lands a left hand that snaps the head of Point backwards. Arlington has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Point landing knees to the head.

and Point counters with a lovely straight right hand! Arlington ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Point lands a slapping body shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Arlington throws a big shot that misses. Good standup being displayed there by Arlington as he connects with a hook. This has been an exciting period of action! Point swings for the body but Arlington moves out of range.

and Point connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Arlington lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Arlington uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Point.

Arlington lands with a straight right. Point didn't see that one coming. Arlington throws a poor cross that misses
and Point counters with a stiff right hand. Arlington ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Point moves away. Arlington comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Point seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. No joy there for Point, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Arlington with the counter takedown but Point avoids it easily. Arlington keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Arlington jabs Point right on the nose. Point blinks but takes it well. Brayden Point is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Arlington throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Point avoids the body shot from Arlington.
Point displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Arlington. Arlington has a takedown stuffed. Arlington fails in his attempt to clinch. Arlington ducks under a wild hook from Point. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Brayden Point will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Jason Arlington's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Good shot there by Arlington. Arlington shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Point's guard. Point has momentary wrist control but Arlington slips an elbow through the middle. Point seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Point is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Arlington defends well. Arlington has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Point is trying to keep Arlington in close.

Point had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Arlington defends it easily. Point is pulling down on Arlington's head. It's preventing any offense from Arlington, at least for the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Arlington slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Point is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Arlington off and has taken his back! Point wants to control but Arlington is keeping busy. Arlington is really stuck here.

For a while it looks like Arlington is going to survive but after struggling valiantly, he eventually has to tap out! Point is your winner!
