Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tacitus Kilgore (ranked 1028 p4p, 134 weight class) and Thomas Maeda (ranked 1259 p4p, 156 weight class). Maeda is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Submission. Tacitus Kilgore could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Thomas Maeda's chin.

The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Andrew Berry and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maeda closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Kilgore is looking for a sweep.
Maeda wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kilgore keeps working.

Kilgore got a little sloppy there for a moment and Maeda has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kilgore has managed to get both his arms back between Maeda's legs - danger averted.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

That was a close round but I would say that Tacitus Kilgore will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

and Maeda counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Maeda jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Maeda shoots in for a takedown but Kilgore shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Horrible takedown attempt by Maeda or perhaps it was just good defense by Kilgore, which made it look bad.
Kilgore feints and then cracks Maeda's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Maeda down.
Tacitus Kilgore seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kilgore rushes Maeda and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Tacitus Kilgore has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Thomas Maeda.

Kilgore has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Maeda to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Kilgore is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Maeda pulls down on the head and he's put Kilgore to sleep! This one is all over!
