Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bruenor Battlehammer (ranked 4130 p4p, 409 weight class) and Billy Beretti (ranked 4245 p4p, 418 weight class). Beretti has chosen Mambo Italiano by Dean Martin as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bruenor Battlehammer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Billy Beretti! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Alyssa Summers and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Battlehammer punishes Beretti's body with a nice straight punch. Horrible takedown attempt by Beretti or perhaps it was just good defense by Battlehammer, which made it look bad. Battlehammer misses with a series of wild punches.
Beretti with the counter takedown but Battlehammer avoids it easily. Battlehammer misses with a wild body shot. Beretti misses with a takedown attempt and Battlehammer counters with a nice body shot. Battlehammer leaves Beretti with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Bruenor Battlehammer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Billy Beretti. Battlehammer with a body punch. A glancing blow. Beretti shoots for a takedown but Battlehammer saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Beretti walks into a left hand. Battlehammer misses with a two punch combination.
Beretti feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Beretti forces his way into half guard. Beretti wants to work for an arm triangle but Battlehammer is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Beretti is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Battlehammer doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Beretti. Beretti controlling the pace. Beretti is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Beretti is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Battlehammer trying to control but Beretti postures up.
Beretti moves into full mount! Battlehammer won't be happy about that! My spies in Indigo Starseed's Zen Jujutsu Monastery inform me that Beretti has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Battlehammer wants to control but Beretti is having none of it. Beretti fails to advance to Battlehammer's back. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Beretti is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Battlehammer to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Battlehammer shrugs it off. Beretti with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Beretti has control of Battlehammer's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Battlehammer regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Beretti prevents Battlehammer from getting the reversal. Beretti tries to control but Battlehammer wriggling away. Beretti goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Battlehammer turns into him and now he's in Beretti's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Beretti is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Battlehammer frees his head nicely. Oh but Beretti has switched to an armbar! Battlehammer is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
