The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Benavidez throws the left hand but Zdravkov avoids the punch easily. Benavidez throws a head kick that misses. Benavidez misses the body punch and Zdravkov counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Benavidez! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Zdravkov scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Benavidez to see if he's OK. Benavidez is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Zdravkov off and has taken his back! Zdravkov is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Benavidez has the hooks in. Zdravkov is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Zdravkov is working hard here to advance position. Zdravkov trying to control the hands but Benavidez breaks the grip. Zdravkov prevents Benavidez from getting a body triangle. Benavidez looking for the choke from the back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zdravkov tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Benavidez is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight!
