Coming up we have a bantamweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Sirus Hughes (ranked 3214 p4p, 177 weight class) and Bryson Pico (ranked 3384 p4p, 186 weight class). Hughes comes to the ring accompanied by Devil "Shinedown". Pico has chosen Lowkey - G-Eazy as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the bantamweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of St Petersburg, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 4 losses; Sirus Hughes! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Bryson Pico!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.


The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.
Hughes tries to clinch there but Pico circles away.
Pico is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hughes sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Hughes closes the distance and clinches.

Hughes pulls guard successfully.
Pico controls from within his opponent's guard.
It looks like Pico might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pico stands and throws Hughes's legs to the side, diving into side control.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Pico is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hughes is just riding it out for now. Pico eventually gives up the hold.

Pico tries to pass to full mount but Hughes defends it.
Hughes is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Pico wants to free his trapped foot but Hughes is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Pico moves into full mount! Hughes won't be happy about that!

Hughes is working to get back to half guard.
Pico controlling his opponent.
Hughes is trying desperately to improve position.
Pico takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Pico trying to control but Hughes is having none of it.

Pico fails to move to back control.
Pico controlling from mount.
Pico wants to control the pace but Hughes is squirming around nicely.

Hughes keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Pico tries to control but Hughes wriggling away.

Pico with more of the same as he continues to hold on.

Pico wants to take Hughes's back but he can't do it this time.
Hughes is working to get back to half guard.
Pico avoids the attempt from Hughes to control.
Pico controlling the position easily from mount.
Pico tries to control but Hughes wriggling away.
Pico looking to control and managing it successfully.

Pico can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hughes is looking to escape.
Pico looking to take Hughes's back but Hughes rolls and after a scramble, Hughes ends up on top in guard. Nice escape there from Hughes to escape a tricky position.

Hughes got a little sloppy there for a moment and Pico has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hughes has managed to get both his arms back between Pico's legs - danger averted.
Pico looks winded!

Hughes trying to control the position from guard on top but Pico is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Pico won't allow Hughes to pass to mount.
Pico tries to get to full guard but Hughes has control of the leg.

Hughes is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Hughes is looking to take a break and control but Pico is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Hughes is posturing up here but Pico has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Hughes tries to roll out but it's too tight and Hughes has to tap! Slick submission there by Pico!
