The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davies avoids the head kick by Jackson.
Jackson throws a right and a left that both miss.
Davies went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Davies looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Davies really is a fat lump.

Jackson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Davies pulls his head out easily.
Davies is taking a breather. Jackson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jackson tries to land a front kick but Davies steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Davies has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Davies seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Jackson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Davies doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Davies manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Jackson looking for subs off his back but Davies has passed one foot through into half guard.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
