Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Adams (ranked 2934 p4p, 121 weight class) and Giannis Souvlakias (ranked 4828 p4p, 177 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Giannis Souvlakias!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Chris Edwards and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Souvlakias closes this distance looking for a takedown but Adams circles away.

Souvlakias takes the fight into the clinch.
The referee is keeping an eye on Souvlakias - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Adams is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Souvlakias tries to pull guard but Adams holds him up against the cage and eventually Souvlakias drops back down to his feet.

Adams throws a head kick but Souvlakias moves out of range.

Souvlakias shoots in and drives through. Adams sprawls well.
Adams tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Souvlakias manages to circle out of the way.
Souvlakias scores to the head and body with a nice combination!


It looks like Jack Adams has been cut.

Jack Adams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Souvlakias wants to work for an arm triangle but Adams is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

and Adams counters with a three punch combo that has Souvlakias backing up. Souvlakias nods at Adams to acknowledge the strikes.

Adams misses with a wild combination.
Jack Adams is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Souvlakias avoids the body shot from Adams.
Souvlakias keeps the fight on the outside.
Adams moves in looking to clinch but Souvlakias pushes him off.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Souvlakias is defended easily by Adams.
Jack Adams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Giannis Souvlakias.
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Adams has cracked Souvlakias with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Adams lands another huge swinging hook and Souvlakias tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Souvlakias, before Adams can land any more shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Jack Adams!
