Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mario Farina (ranked 676 p4p, 90 weight class) and Jorge Cruz Jr (ranked 287 p4p, 41 weight class). Farina comes to the cage accompanied by Combichrist - Today I Woke to the Rain of Blood. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Cruz Jr missing with a left hand there. Farina was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Farina tries to counter with a takedown but Cruz Jr is quick to defend against it.

Farina appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

Farina drops down looking for a counter takedown but Cruz Jr sprawls and moves away.
Cruz Jr throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Farina half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cruz Jr keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Cruz Jr drops Farina with a naaaaasty hook - Farina is in real trouble here! Cruz Jr dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!

After winning the bout, Jorge Cruz Jr thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
