Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Vladimir Tomcic (ranked 1314 p4p, 147 weight class) and Danny Wood (ranked 1306 p4p, 145 weight class). Wood has chosen Notorious B.I.G - Hypnotyze as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vladimir Tomcic! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Danny Wood! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Wesley Smith and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A combination from Wood does no damage. Tomcic moves into the clinch. Wood is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Wood wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Tomcic has him pressed against the cage. Wood prevents a body shot from Tomcic. Tomcic doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
A frustrated look appears on Wood's face as he tries to break the clinch. Wood tries to circle away but Tomcic has him pinned against the cage. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Tomcic. Tomcic can't find room to land a body shot as Wood controls the action.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tomcic tries to work over Wood's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Tomcic stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Tomcic is trying to pull guard but Wood turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. A head punch on the inside from Tomcic fails to land. Tomcic missing with knees to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wood avoiding damage as Tomcic throws knees to the body.
Tomcic drags the fight down to the ground.
Tomcic is looking for a triangle but Wood pushes his legs off easily.
Wood would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Tomcic is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Tomcic is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Tomcic is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Tomcic is working for a kimura but Wood is defending it quite comfortably.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tomcic is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Wood looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Tomcic trying to mount his opponent but Wood defends it. Wood is not content to let Tomcic control the position. Tomcic is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tomcic wants to work for an arm triangle but Wood is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Tomcic is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. Tomcic is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Tomcic stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wood swivels though and keeps the full guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Vladimir Tomcic dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Wood blocks a head kick by Tomcic.
Wood unleashes a big counter combination but Tomcic bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. No joy there for Tomcic, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Tomcic throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Wood's waist but Wood gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Tomcic off to one side. Tomcic misses with a body punch
and Wood cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
It looks like Vladimir Tomcic has been cut. Tomcic is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Wood can do to turn this around? Wood gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tomcic tries to free his leg and advance position but Wood is retaining full guard. Tomcic drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Wood manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Tomcic has Wood in his guard. Wood is looking to stand up but Tomcic won't let him. Tomcic wants to improve his position but instead Wood has moved into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wood seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Tomcic wants to get back to full guard. Tomcic wants to control but Wood is keeping busy and won't allow it. Tomcic is trying to get back to full guard. Tomcic is holding on to half guard well. Tomcic trying to control here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Tomcic is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Wood pulls his head out easily. Tomcic has his hands clasped together around Wood's back. He's all about the action. Tomcic wants to sweep but Wood has passed to side control! Tomcic is looking to reverse the position. Tomcic is working hard here to advance position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tomcic manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Tomcic is trying to work for a kimura but Wood is defending well.

Tomcic is figuring out what he wants to do next. Tomcic is looking for a kimura but Wood is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Tomcic to get the leverage. Vladimir Tomcic overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Wood tries to kick Tomcic off but Tomcic keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tomcic is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Wood is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
