Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lardo Humpinator (ranked 3190 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henry Hines (ranked 6951 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Lardo Humpinator!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Henry Hines!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Santiago Holmes and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Humpinator closes the distance and clinches up with Hines, looking for a takedown. Humpinator pushes Hines against the cage but Hines circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Humpinator shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hines but Hines pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Humpinator moves out of range as Hines throws a body kick.

Humpinator shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Humpinator trying to control the position from guard on top but Hines is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Humpinator has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Humpinator is on top in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hines is trying to keep Humpinator in close.
Hines tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Humpinator thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Humpinator seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Hines looking to hit a scissor sweep but Humpinator is one step ahead there.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Hines has eaten all the pies!
Hines is trying to control the position but Humpinator postures up.
Humpinator trying to control but Hines is working from the bottom.
Hines pulls Humpinator in close to prevent any damage.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Hines scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Humpinator is trying to get back to half guard.

Hines is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Humpinator has escaped the position, nice work there.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Hines throws a head kick but Humpinator moves out of range.
Humpinator drops down looking for a counter takedown but Hines sprawls and moves away.
Humpinator changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hines tries to avoid it but Humpinator manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hines to the ground. Hines escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Hines is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Humpinator's half guard.

Hines is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hines looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Humpinator is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Humpinator has his foot on Hines's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hines works his way back into a safe position though.

Humpinator throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Hines escapes and throws Humpinator's legs to the side, diving into side control!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
You can see the frustration on Humpinator's face as Hines controls the position.
Hines misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Hines tries to move to mount but Humpinator blocks the move with his legs.
Humpinator tries to control but Hines manages to take his back.
Hines has the hooks in. Humpinator is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Humpinator just trying to survive but Hines is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

Humpinator avoids the strikes from Hines.
Humpinator trying to control the action but Hines just sinks the hooks in.
Hines has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Hines punches Humpinator on the ear.
A lull in the action here.
Hines might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Humpinator haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Hines is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Humpinator has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Can Humpinator hold on?! Hines is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
Hines is riding his opponent, not letting Humpinator buck him off.
Humpinator can't escape the position.
Humpinator just trying to survive but Hines is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Hines misses with a punch to the head.

Henry Hines showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!



Humpinator shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hines is trying to defend but Humpinator finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Hines wants to stand but Humpinator is controlling the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Humpinator tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Hines defends well and Humpinator ends up having to push Hines into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Humpinator is trying to control Hines's posture but Hines avoids it.

Hines is looking to take a break and control but Humpinator is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Humpinator takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Hines throws an elbow but Humpinator slips to the side and avoids it well.
Hines has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Humpinator!

Humpinator has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hines is working away from the top position though.
Humpinator is refusing to be controlled, as Hines sits in half guard.
Hines is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Humpinator!

Humpinator is wriggling around trying to escape.

Hines sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Hines avoids the attempt from Humpinator to control.
Hines cracks Humpinator with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Lardo Humpinator has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Henry Hines is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Hines throws a sloppy strike and Humpinator uses the opportunity to reverse the position! A bit of a scramble here and Humpinator has ended up in Hines's guard.

Well Hines has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
